A youth exchange founded by Erasmus+ program will take place between 18th and 25th July 2015, in the European Meeting Center in Nasutów. Participants come from Poland, Germany, Turkey and Romania. The keynote of the meeting is the topic of architecture and city planning.

2014 was a Year of Jan Gehl in Lublin. He is a Danish architect and urban designer, who promotes the idea of transforming cities into people-friendly places. The main idea of this project is to expand urban awareness through getting knowledge about his vision of “Cities for People”.

During the exchange, young people will have chance to get acquainted with the objectives of the vision of Jan Gehl, but also will have the opportunity to design their own public spaces in 3D modeling program SketchUp (after a short training under the supervision of trainers). As one of the project activities, it is also planned to organize a happening on the streets of Lublin.

During the course, participants of the exchange will create flowerbeds and benches, which will then be put on the Żmigród street. It is also planned to prepare several flowerbeds together with local residents during a happening, also some games and integration will be carried out by participants in the exchange.

Thanks to this exchange, participants can make their own contribution to creating people-friendly city according to the ideals of Jan Gehl.
