17.12.2012 r. Lublin Conference "Polish Language in the world - challenges and prospects" European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Foundation

The situation of our mother tongue outside Polish borders, the education and promotion were discussed on 17th December 2012, during the conference  "Polish language in the world - challenges and prospects". The project was organized by the European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Foundation on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The special guest of the conference was the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Janusz Cisek. Other participants represented, the world of science, education, as well as government authorities, including prof. Ph.D. University of Silesia. Jolanta Tambor, Director of School of Polish Language and Culture at the University of Silesia, Grzegorz Chorąży, Director of International Cooperation Department at Ministry of National Education and Senator  Stanislaw Gogacz.

Discussion during the conference included: System certification for the knowledge of the Polish language and modern methods of teaching the Polish language, the use of modern technology in the teaching of the Polish language. Douring the conference, the Minister said that Poland wants to encourage young people to stay in Poland. In addition, the Foreign Ministry presented the activities for the promotion of Polish language abroad, mainly  organizing the Polish language study program in the United States and Great Britain.
