09.05.2011 r., Lublin "Simulation of assembly of the European Parliament" European Information

We invite schools to take part in the simulation of the European Parliament with will be held during the celebration of "Day of Europe" on 9 May 2011 in the Lublin City Hall (City Council Debating Chamber).

The purpose of the simulation is spreading knowledge about the structure and functioning of the European Union, and especially the European Parliament, and developing the skills of  discussion of rhetoric and argumentation of young people.

The organizers of the project are: Regional Centre of European Information in Lublin,  Europe Direct - Lublin, and Department of the European Funds of the City of Lublin. Prof. Lena Kolarska - Bobinska MEP took over patronage over the contest.
The prize is a trip to the European Parliament, founded by prof. Lena Kolarska – Bobińska.

Simulation of assembly of the European Parliament
will be proceeded according to the following scenario:

9.00 - 9.10
Welcoming of the participants.

9.10 - 9.55
Working in individual fractions, the choice of faction leader, consistent with the objectives of the fraction of positions.

9.55 - 10.10
Coffee Break

10.10 - 10.20.
Start  of the plenary session

10.20 - 12.00.
Statements of leaders of various factions of the position worked out during discussion, the discussion of representatives of various factions. Vote on the elaboration of common positions on these issues:

10.20 - 10.50.
Liberalization of the EU internal market - opportunity or threat?

10.50 - 11.20.
Do we need the volunteer in the twenty-first century?

11.20 - 11.50.
 EU energy policy - nuclear power and alternative energy sources.

12.00 - 12.30.
 Official closing of the session and invite participants to treat

12.30 - 13.00
Announcements of results and awards ceremony
