EUROPEAN MEETING CENTRE - NOWY STAW FOUNDATION
An open meeting combined with workshops concerning volunteer’s activity was held on the 16th February 2011 in European Meeting Centre in Nasutów. Workshops were realized in frame of European Year of Volunteering.
Youth from the Youth Parliament of the Lublin Voivodeship, representatives of Youth City Council, pupils from Dormitory nr 3 in Lublin as well as youth and adults from the region took part in the meeting. The main objectives of the workshops were: to promote active citizenship and to encourage participants (mostly young people) to work voluntary in their local communities i.a. through presentation of the idea of the European Year of Volunteering.
During workshops participants took part in simulation game “Skarpolandia”, shared their points of views about voluntary work and their experience in that field.
Good practices exchange and presentation of voluntary output were the culmination point of the meeting.
The meeting was organized by Europe Direct Lublin Information Point,
in cooperation with Lublin School – Board.
