YEAR 2010 NEWS

An international youth exchange is going to be held between 10th-17th April 2010, in Lutsk, Ukraine, which group of Foundation’s volunteers take part in. The theme of the exchange concerns propaganda in mass-media.

Youth from four European countries: Belarus, Germany, Poland and Ukraine is going to participate in this event.

During seven days of the exchange young people will have the opportunity to share their views about the influence of manipulation, propaganda and mass-media on the political and social life in modern world as well as they will go back to the times of second world war to discover the similarities and differences of propaganda techniques. To achieve this they will take part in workshops, during which they will look both in the past and our present to identify the means of propaganda extensively used in the media – classical posters of WW II, radio broadcasts or modern Internet banners, TV ads etc.

Public exhibition devoted to the subject of propaganda will be the final point of the exchange. It will be presenting materials about propaganda and manipulation, collected by the youth and project participants will be guides during the exhibition, will be dressed in clothing of the times of WW II and be inviting people to come and watch the installations. Participants will also make an theatrical performance about nazi and communist propaganda.
