"Zlota 9" Academy
Youth Debate with the President of Poland – Bronisław Komorowski

The main organizer of the debate of youth from Lubelskie Region with the President of Poland was Academy Złota 9 – School of Civil Service, run by European Meeting Centre–Nowy Staw Foundation.

The meeting took place on 12 March 2012 in the Monastery of Dominicans on Złota 9 Str. More than 150 persons took part in the debate with the President.  Aula Magna in the Monastery was completely full with youth – students of Academy Złota 9. Also the founders of Academy were present in the discussion: father Ludwik Wiśniewski OP, Tomasz Różniak and Sergiusz Kieruzel from European Meeting Centre–Nowy Staw Foundation.

Debating with the President youth raised many questions concerning issues like nature of authority and idealism in social life, foreign policy, social policy, education, unemployment, family and promotion of Lubelskie Region. At the end youth gave the President a golden board with rules of young generation that young people declare to adopt in their public service.

In the meeting there were also representatives of President`s Office, Minister Sławomir Rybicki, President of Lublin Krzysztof Żuk, Superintendent of Schools of Lubelskie Region Krzysztof Babisz, directors and teachers from schools participating in the debate as well as media.

A common picture and entry of President in the visitors' book ended the meeting.

Academy Złota 9 thanks all for participation in the debate and invites to the next meeting in frames of the School of Civil Service.

One-day training on "Youth in Action” programme

During the training that took place on 18th February 2012 in Lublin its participants had opportunity to get to know the general principles of the Programme and the specificity of each of its Actions.
The meeting was intended for people who wish to avail themselves of the possibility of financing projects in the framework of the "Youth in Action" programme.

„Be enterprising” – possibilities of gaining European funds for business

Europe Direct – Lublin Information Point organized again a training about how to start up a business and how to get money from EU for this purpose.

Participants of the project got the knowledge on how to start an own company and how to get money from European funds for it. The program of the training consisted on principles of starting up a business, presentation of possibilities of gaining European funds for this purpose (i.a. Regional Operational Programme of Lubelskie Region, Operational Programme Human Capital), presentation of timetable of calls of proposals, application forms and presentation of best practices. After the training each participant had the possibility to consult directly with the trainer, specialist on the field of European funds. The organizer of the training was Europe Direct – Lublin Information Point.

MY PLACEMENT – alternatives are among us!

Nowy Staw Foundation has begun recruitment for a new project: MY PLACEMENT – alternatives are among us! We invite people who acquired the status of an unemployed person in last six months (terminating employment due to reasons not pertaining to the employees, for example: financial difficulties, liquidation of a workplace…).

The main aim of the project is the extension of professional skills. During the project participants will get support of a vocational and psychological guidance, 4-months vocational training/education. Everybody who will open an own business will receive a financial resources in the form of a subsidy. Participation in a project is free of charge. Across the border.
Polish-German training for international youth exchange coordinators
Between 18th and 25th March in Jugendbildungszentrum Blossin the first part of the Polish-German specialized training for international youth exchange coordinators takes place. The particular emphasis will be put on Polish-German youth exchanges.
The participants of the first part of the training will present their experience and ideas of work as international youth exchange coordinator. During work in international groups they will create the image of an ideal trainer. They will take part in workshops including: intercultural communication and competence, international teamwork, teaching experience, group dynamics and ways of solving problems. In addition to this, they will learn how to prepare and carry out good workshops step by step.
The second part of the training will take place between 6th and 13th May 2012 in the European Meeting Centre in Nasutów. We invite to participate.

Europe Direct Lublin
Europe Direct – Lublin Information Point extends its training offer for Border Guards.

Entrepreneurs, unemployed, representatives of NGOs, local government workers, farmers – these groups were already trained by us on the European funds. On 8th March we organized a first training of this type for the Border Guards.

35 persons – workers of Border Guards, took part in the training. Participants of the training got the knowledge about general principles of co-financing projects from European funds as well as on how to prepare a project according to EU standards. Moreover they learned the rules of preparing an application and attachments and guidelines for eligibility of expenditure. The program of the training consisted on lecture and workshops.
After the training each participant had the possibility to consult directly with the trainer, specialist on the field of European funds.
