International Platform of Cooperation and Migration
On 22nd June 2009 the International Platform of Cooperation and Migration was established in Madrid (Spain). It was created by 21 cristian NGOs from several countries from Europe and Latin America: Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Albania, Poland, Romania and Chile.
The Platform has it’s seat in the office of the Humanism and Democracy Foundation in Madrid. It works in cooperation and with support of two international organizations: European Centre of Workers` Questions (EZA) and the Union of Centers of Mediterranean Studies (UCEM). The Platform is supposed to be the answer to the need of supporting the international solidarity, peace and social justice, that all the organizations involved are feeling and to the necessity of coordination of works for the development of North Africa and Latin America which these organizations are fulfilling. European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Foundation is a founder and member of the Platform and moreover it is the only one polish organization associated in it. As a member of the leadership of the Platform was nominated Tomasz Różniak – the president of the Nowy Staw Foundation.

The training about applying for funds for soft projects co-financed by the Cultural Exchange Fund under the EEA Financial Mechanism and Norwegian Financial Mechanism
Ministry Of Culture And National Heritage Department of European Funds in cooperation with the Regional Centre for European Information in Lublin and the Municipality of Gdańsk invite to the training about applying for funds for soft projects co-financed by the Cultural Exchange Fund under the EEA Financial Mechanism and Norwegian Financial Mechanism
The training will take place: 10 August 2009 at 11.00 am at the office of the Regional Centre for European Information in Lublin, Leszczyńskiego Str. 14/1-3 .
The training will include issues relating preparation of a application to the Cultural Exchange Fund, looking for partners for projects. The participants will also have the opportunity to consult the idea of a project with the staff of the Department of European Funds.

Recruitment for the Forum completed
- 200 young leaders go to Nowy Sacz!

138 application forms from Ukraine alone, 302 from non-EU countries in total and 348 candidates from the EU – those numbers proof that this year´s Economic Forum of Young Leaders will be a true meeting of the young elite from East and West!
The Economic Forum of Young Leaders in Nowy Sącz (close to Krakow) is accompanying the 19th Economic Forum in Krynica. It is a meeting of young social, economic and political leaders from Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. There will be over 200 representatives of political, non- governmental, social and economic organizations from more than 30 countries. The Forum is a place of discussion and reflection about important problems and challenges for Europe with a special focus on the role of the young generation in the process of social and economic changes on the continent. The subjects of the Forum are as follows: identity and European values and most of all the meaning of solidarity in the contemporary world. Moreover, there will be touched upon the issues of the vision of the European Union, development based on knowledge and youth workers mobility.

Workcamp „Soldiers` cemeteries and the history of the I World War"
From 4 till 16 of August in Nasutów a youth exchange will take place, during which young people from Poland, Germany and Hungary will take care over soldiers` cemeteries from the I World War. This year young people will work on cemeteries in Strzeszkowice and Opole Lubelskie. They will also participate in the celebrations of blessing of two soldiers` cemeteries: in Świdnik and Strzeszkowice.
In the program, beside of the work, there will also be numerous workshops on historical issues and discussions about the history of the I World War, stereotypes and human rights. Planned are also visits in Lublin (together with visit in Majdanek) as well as trips to Kazimierz Dolny and to the lake.

For friendship! Viva Polonia! Viva Germania!
From 9 till 19 of August a german-polish youth exchange will take place. First two days the young participants will spend in Wrocław, where they will get to know the history of the city and will search for german traces in the city.
Next days they will spend in Nasutów and Lublin, discovering together their traditions, history and culture, similarities and differences between both countries and what’s most important – striking up friendships.

Polish-German-Belarusian media workshops
18 young people form German Münster, Byelorussian Minsk, Brest and Lublin met in Nasutów on 03.07.-09.07. The aim of this scholarship organized by European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Fundation was to run the media training.
During that scholarship, participants formed groups, in which they were learning how to work with TV camera, record videos, issue the real fact TV, produce movies, graphics and making logo for promotion of the youth initiative and professional education. The result of the workshop was a presentation which took place at the end of the meeting. It is available to be seen on http://europeanweb.tv/

Polish-German youth exchange –
„ Activity, fitness and adequate nutrition”

From July 18th to 25th 2009 a Polish-German youth meeting took place in European Meeting Centre - Nowy Staw Foundation in Nasutów near Lublin.
The main purpose of the meeting was to educate participants that an active leisure activities and a balanced diet are really important. During that project young people had a great opportunity to participate in classes with fitness trainer, visit a swimming pool and take part in a night game in the forest. What’s more, the participants had a chance to use their knowledge about adequate nutrition during preparing a meal. They also took part in a picnic on fresh air. .

Recruitment of participants for youth exchange “Comics as a tool to discover cultural diversity and enhance creativity” deadline.
Recruitment of participants for “Comics as a tool to discover cultural diversity and enhance creativity” Youth Exchange ends on Friday 31st of July. The project will take place between 9th and 16th of October in Berlin, Germany and will gather together participants from 5 countries including Germany, Greece, Portugal, Romania and Poland. The aim of the project is to create a dynamic and open space for the exploration of cultural diversity and community identity where comics will be used as a tool to visualize our ideas and concepts.

Developmental tendencies of companies and demand for work in Lubelskie Voivodeship in the context of organization of Euro 2012 by Poland and Ukraine – diagnosis and prognosis
Labour Market Institute
The project staff under dr Markowski’s director has completed the main methodology of research already. The pilot research is going to be conducted during the nearest weeks. There are 30 companies from different branches at Lublin Voivodeship – building trade, hotel & gastronomy branch, touristic, trade and logistic branches – are going to be investigated during the pilot research with survey key.
BAfterwards, the quantitative research will start in August. Therefore, all interested companies –potentail constructors – are welcome to submit the cooperation offer till August 14, 2009. More details are provided on the project website: www.irp-fundacja.ok/euro2012

“Youth without borders” youth exchange ended..
Exchange project titled "Youth without Borders" took place between 1st and 10th of July in Nasutów near Lublin.
The project appeared to be very successful with youth from Germany, Belarus, Ukraine, Serbia, Finland and Poland brought together in order to discuss stereotypes and features of different European nations and to be shown that Europe does not end with the borders of the EU, and young Europeans can make a real cultural commonwealth.
